Keith Yurgosky’s career with the The University of Scranton SBDC started in 1994. Both Keith’s BS in Accounting and his MBA in Marketing are from The University of Scranton, where he has also taught topics from Principals of Management to Business Strategy to Social Entrepreneurship as an adjunct professor for the Kania School of Management.
At the SBDC, Keith holds dual roles as both a consultant and trainer. As a consultant he works with both existing and start up small businesses, but specializes in digital marketing, social media marketing, and business disruption & continuity planning. Keith often gives advice on international trade, business planning and market research. As a trainer, his topics include EBAY and NxLevel™ education, in both of which he was trained and certified to be an educator, and he has his ServSafe® Food Safety certification. He has offered training to groups from 10 to 150 attendees all over Pennsylvania and across the nation. Keith has also been chosen, through a competitive process, to present training programs at America’s SBDC National Conferences from 2009 through 2021. In 2017 Keith was named the State Star for the Pennsylvania SBDC Small Business Network. In 2019 he was inducted into Sigma Nu Tau, The University of Scranton’s Kania School of Management Entrepreneurship Honor Society. In 2020, Keith received a certification in digital marketing from Google Digital Garage.
Keith’s other responsibilities are web development and maintenance of The University of Scranton SBDC and KSOM Women’s Entrepreneurship Center web pages, as well as the SBDC’s blog, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Google +, Pinterest and YouTube accounts. Most recently, Keith was instrumental in developing and launching the Scranton SBDC’s mobile app.
Keith covers outreach in Wyoming & Susquehanna Counties for the SBDC, and serves on the loan review committee for the Northern Tier Regional Planning & Development Commission. Outside of the SBDC, Keith has served on the board of directors of MetroAction, Inc. and also on its loan review committee. He is currently a board member for the Lackawanna County Industrial Development Authority, Newton Lake Association, and a member of Elkview Country Club. Keith is a 2017 graduate of Leadership Wyoming, and a 2002 graduate of Leadership Lackawanna.
